Innisfree is one of around 1,300 housing associations operating in England. We are one of the smaller ones, with over 500 homes in our ownership. However, we are continuing to grow slowly and surely with a few new schemes coming into our management each year. But growth isn’t everything; we pride ourselves on our high quality services and the high opinion in which our tenants hold us. We welcome the focus of the new Tenant Services Authority on what matters most to tenants.
Formed in 1985, our primary mission is and always has been to address the needs of the Irish community in London. Twelve years on from the CRE report, Discrimination and the Irish community, it is sad to report that some of our tenants still experience anti-Irish harassment. Many others have problems accessing the services to which they are entitled. We believe firmly that there is still a need for specialist providers such as Innisfree and other BME associations.
