Board and Governance

New Chair

Sinéad McQuillan (pictured right) joined Innisfree's board in 2002. She is delighted to be taking over the role as Chair. A qualified Company Secretary, Sinéad has nearly 20 years' experience in social housing and corporate governance roles. Since 2006 she has been working for a large occupational pension scheme. Sinéad is proud of Innisfree’s achievements to date and is looking forward to leading the Board to meet the challenges of a changing funding and regulatory environment.

Governance

Innisfree has signed up to the NHF Code for members, Excellence in Governance, (published 2009) and complies in all major respects. A variety of tenants groups assist the Board in the continuous review of services. The Board carries out an annual appraisal of members’ performance. This has three purposes: - to examine attendance, to assess members’ contributions and to ensure that, between them, members have the necessary skills to direct the Association.

Board membership

Board members are expected to act in the best interests of the association and to adopt the highest standards of probity, integrity and good behaviour when representing Innisfree. They are expected to attend meetings, to read reports and to contribute to the effective control of the association. They are committed to the shared values of Innisfree. Members are also expected to have an understanding of the issues facing Irish immigrants and, collectively, to contribute to the wide knowledge and experience necessary to fulfil all our regulators’ requirements. We recruit new members on a regular basis to ensure membership remains fresh and active.

Most recently, the board has been joined by Ruaíri McCourt and David Blackburn, pictured to the right. A former board member, Barbara Regnier, returns in the autumn.

Shareholding membership

Shareholding membership is open to anyone who shares the values and aims of the association and meets our membership criteria. We currently have 35 shareholding members.
