Everyone should be able to feel safe in their home.
Innisfree has legal responsibilities for keeping our homes and buildings safe. We carry out a range of inspections, servicing and safety checks and rely on residents to give us access when these are needed.
You can also help us keep your home safe by reporting repairs, damage or safety concerns as soon as possible.
We carry out safety inspections and checks in our homes and buildings in line with our legal responsibilities.
Depending on your home and building, these may include checks relating to:
Some checks require us or our contractors to enter your home.
It is important that you allow access when we contact you about a safety inspection or servicing appointment. These checks help us identify problems and keep you, your household and your neighbours safe.
Our latest published safety performance can be found on our performance page.
You can help reduce the risk of fire in your home and building by taking some simple precautions.
You should:
If you live in a block, communal hallways, stairs and landings may form part of the route residents need to use in an emergency. Do not leave belongings, furniture or rubbish in these areas.
If you wish to report a fire safety concern email maintenance@innifree.org.uk
Smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are important safety features in your home.
Do not remove, cover, disconnect or interfere with an alarm.
You should report an alarm that is damaged, missing or not working properly to us as soon as possible.

Innisfree is responsible for maintaining the electrical installation in your home and for carrying out required electrical safety checks.
Please report problems such as:
Do not attempt electrical repairs yourself.
Unsafe electrical fittings and loss of electrical power are treated as emergency repairs where appropriate.
If you want to report an electrical problem, email maintenance@innifree.org.uk
If you notice damp or mould in your home, please tell us.
Damp can have different causes. For example, water entering through a roof, window or another part of the building can cause damp and will require investigation and repair.
Condensation happens when moisture in the air settles on colder surfaces and can also lead to damp and mould.
External damp can be caused by problems with roofs, gutters, cladding or windows, and Innisfree are most like responsible for carrying out repairs needed to resolve this.
We will consider what is causing the problem and what action is required.
If you want to report damp or mould, email maintenance@innifree.org.uk
Some older homes and buildings may contain materials containing asbestos.
Asbestos-containing materials do not always need to be removed. The important thing is that they are appropriately identified, assessed and managed.
If you think you have damaged or disturbed a material that may contain asbestos, do not continue working on it. Leave it alone and contact us for advice.
You should also contact us before carrying out alterations or improvements that could disturb the fabric of your home.
If you want to report a concern about asbestos, email maintenance@innifree.org.uk
We carry out water-safety checks and assessments where these are required in the homes and buildings we manage. This normally applies to communal water supplies.
You can help by reporting problems with water systems, including concerns about water temperature, tanks or shared water systems where applicable.
If you have been told about specific water-safety arrangements for your building, please follow the guidance provided.
If you want to report a water safety concern, email maintenance@innifree.org.uk

If you want to report a problem with a lift, email maintenance@innifree.org.uk
There will be times when we need access to your home to carry out inspections, servicing, repairs or legally required safety checks.
We will contact you to arrange access and explain why we need to visit.
Please keep appointments or contact us as soon as possible if you need to rearrange one.
When Innisfree staff or contractors visit your home, our current service standards say they will display identification, explain the reason for the visit and ask permission to enter.
Please do not wait for a scheduled inspection if you notice something that may be unsafe.
You should report concerns about your home or building as soon as possible so that we can assess the problem and decide what action is needed.
