Innisfree was first registered as a housing association in 1985. It grew from the campaigning zeal of a small group of individuals who were driven to do something about the poor health and housing conditions of the local Irish community in Brent.

From the management of short-life housing in one borough, Innisfree has grown substantially and now owns over 606 homes, mainly in North & West London. We provide family homes and a very successful scheme for Irish Elders. Nearly 50% of our tenants are Irish. The Irish roots of the organisation are also reflected in the make-up of the staff team, the Board of Management and its committees.

An independent housing association with Irish roots

Our origins remain an important part of who we are. 

Innisfree began in response to the housing needs of London’s Irish community and has grown from managing short-life housing in one borough to owning more than 600 homes. 

We provide family homes as well as housing specifically for older Irish people. Almost half of our tenants are Irish, and our Irish identity continues to be reflected across our organisation.  

At the same time, our future is about continuing to serve Irish people in London who need our homes and services alongside residents from other backgrounds and life experiences.
